Alvin (22-7-1 overall, 10-2 in district) trailed 1-0 following Baylee Freudenberg’s RBI single in the bottom of the third inning, but the Lady Jackets quickly tied it during the fourth and then took the upper hand with a four-run fifth frame.

Mary Pourcio (single) and Hertenberger (double) both provided RBI hits to score Shae Montemayor and Ciara Jimenez, respectively, while Hearn delivered a two-run double to make it 5-1.

Falls closed within 5-2 with three consecutive hits in the sixth, but Hertenberger bounced back to whiff the next three hitters to escape any further damage. Hertenberger struck out 14, while allowing seven hits and two walks to pick up the win in the circle.
