Coach Stepney is a native of Missouri City, TX who began her track and field career at age 9 with Track Houston Track Club. She then continued on and became successful at Fort Bend Marshall High School where she was a two time Fort Bend ISD 100 meter District Champion 2005 and 2006, UIL 5A State Bronze Medalist in the 4x100MR and apart of the overall Team Runner Up award in 2006 at the State meet, two time Indoor Track and Field All-American in the 4x200MR, Junior Olympics qualifier in the 4x100MR, USATF National Championship medalist 4x100MR, and has won countless local and regional medals during her high school career. Austin State University to become a Lumberjack and continue her track and field legacy. During her first year attending SFASU, she made the tough decision to leave behind her academic/track scholarship and become a mom. She now has her Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston-Downtown and her Master's degree from THE University of Oklahoma. She has three beautiful children and is a die hard University of Oklahoma football fan. Her coaching philosophy is based on building social-emotional connections with her athletes and ensuring all technical aspects of track and field are taught and executed properly. She is a character builder, strong force to the overall development of her athletes, and preaches the importance of long term participation in track and field. She is a USATF Level 1 certified coach.  She has been with Alvin ISD since 2019 and proud to be apart of the Yellowjacket family.
