Despite suffering a sweep at the hands of Barbers Hill at home Friday, the Alvin Lady Yellowjackets gave the Lady Eagles all they could handle in a 28-30, 27-29 and 23- 25 match.

Match totals for Alvin included Tobi Phillips with 12 kills, Angelina Farias with 11 kills, Gabby Hall with 39 assists, Haley Gaddy with 13 digs and Lindsay Parthum with 10 digs.

Alvin was coming off a 25-20, 25-15 and 25-17 triumph at La Porte on Sept. 4 behind Hadlee Morris' 21 kills.

Hall also delivered a double double with 37 assists and 11 digs, while other Lady Jackets reaching double figures included Parthum with 13 digs and Gaddy with 11 digs.
