Angleton jumped to an 18-9 lead after the initial eight minutes and extended their cushion into double digits at 20-11 early in the second quarter.
However, the Lady Jackets went on a 10-2 run to cut the gap to 22-19 at intermission and then outscored the Lady Wildcats by a 12-7 margin in the third to take the upper hand at 31-29 heading into the fourth.
Alvin opened up a 39-31 lead and then held off an Angleton comeback in the closing seconds.
Senior guard Andreea Mancha led the Lady Jackets with a game-high 21 points, while junior Gabbi Church added nine points.
The Lady Jackets next play at Pasadena Memorial on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
